These 10" Nylon sheaves were specially manufactured for use in a class 1 explosion proof area of the Oil and Gas Refinery. A sheave fabricated from steel could not be used as any chance of sparking had to be eliminated. Nylon 6 MoS2 was selected as the sheave material due to it's well known wear resistance, high compressive strength and non-sparking properties.
The 12 sheaves were designed and manufactured with a bore suited to match the customer's supplied bearings.
